Description

Featured in this auction is a small, antique frog flower frog or insert made by the Brush-McCoy Pottery Co.  This sweet little frog is unmarked except for its shape number, 060 (partially obscured by the glaze), and is identified in the reference guide called
Flower Frogs for Collectors
by Bonnie Bull as having been made by Brush-McCoy, shape #060, circa 1915.  This arts-and-crafts design features a molded then handworked resting frog to serve as a flower insert.  The body is solid with 7 stemholes that go through to the bottom.  This gorgeous drip glaze is a high-gloss KolorKraft green.  This piece is in excellent condition with glaze drips onto the base that have been ground to make it sit flat, tiny glaze fleabites on the base stemholes, along with tiny glaze pops and visible stilt pulls.  There are no chips, no cracks, very fine overall crazing, and no repairs.  This frog is 1-1/2" tall, 4-1/2" long and 2-3/4" wide.  Check out all 12 photos!  This beautiful little piece would be perfect for any American art pottery or Brush-McCoy Pottery collector.  Check out my other pottery listings!
