Vintage 16" growler teddy bear, jointed, google eyes 1940's GUND

Description

What I am very pleased to offer is this  "rare" early (chubby) Gund.
Cinnamon colored
silk mohair
teddy,
with kapok fill, full disc jointed, plastic googly eyes and with working
growler/cryer.
Made in 1940's-
He measures 16-17 inches.
ADORABLE!
Working "Growler" sounds cute.
He is in very nice clean condition.

ubstantial weight.
He's a chubby little fellow (stocky and firmly stuffed with Kapok).
This is an older vintage Gund and a bit harder to find w/a working growler.
Good disc joints. Can hold a pose, sits well.
All features there, stitched nose and mouth with a tiny red tongue.
The eyes are google type (black pupil discs that move inside clear plastic domes
permanently
attached to
brass
metal backs). Backs are
original and
sewn into head.
Original yellow silk bow tied around his neck.
At one time he
had
a tag sewn into his seam with maker's name J. Swedlin Gund ,
but has since wore off.
(tag-less).
** Past and present
Condition
:
He has very worn paw pads when
I originally acquired him
.
I had his paw pads covered.
Appropriate real wool felt was used.
*We made sure to keep the
original worn pads
untouched underneath the
new mend . Nothing was removed.*
The new stitching, around the new paw pads, was replicated exactly to the old ones underneath.
Very nice little bear.. clean without odors from an air controlled environment...smoke free.
